Other FAQs

How do you handle "quick questions"

We're always happy to help, and many questions are truly quick.

When a Question is Complimentary

We're glad to answer brief, straightforward questions that:

  • Require minimal clarification

  • Do not require research, calculations, or strategy

  • Can be answered quickly based on existing knowledge of your life

Examples:

  • Clarifying where to upload documents

  • Confirming a deadline

  • Explaining a form already prepared

When a Question Becomes a Service

If a question requires:

  • Tax strategy or planning

  • Research or interpretation of tax law

  • Scenario analysis or projections

  • Review of documents not already analyzed

We will pause and let you know before proceeding.

At that point, we'll explain:

  • What service is required

  • Any applicable fee

  • Your options for moving forward

You are never billed without notice or approval.

This protects transparency while respecting the value of professional expertise.

Why isn't tax planning included in tax prep?

Tax prep looks backward. Tax Planning looks forward. Combining them limits the effectiveness of both.

Why do I need a concultation first?

Consultations ensure we understand your situation and recommend the correct service, saving time and cost.

Why can't I book directly with Bryan online?

To ensure availability and appropriate scheduling, Bryan's appointments are booked by phone and email only!
